Looking at the IR and Raman spectra of two primary amines - isopropyl amine and isobutyl amine - there is approximately a 30 cm-1 difference between the IR and Raman spectra for the symmetric N-H stretch. The Raman band is at the higher frequency - 3329 in the Raman, 3300 in the IR for isobutyl amine. Anyone happen to know why that is?
