Spectral Databases

The Coblentz Infrared Database is available in electronic format for use with spectral searching. Click Coblentz Society Infrared Spectra Collection for ACD/Labs for more details!

History of the Coblentz Spectral Collections:

The Coblentz spectral collections include the IR spectra of a wide variety of compounds. These spectra were collected and donated to the society by several research groups to further the aims of the Society. In particular, Clara Craver was instrumental in developing this collection. Revenue from the spectral collections is used to support the Society's aims.

Why use the Coblentz Spectral Collections?

The collection, although developed several years ago, remains a valuable and current resource for infrared spectroscopists as it includes spectra from a variety of unique compounds that are only available here.

The Coblentz Society Special Collections:

(CSC-1) DESK BOOK of Infrared Spectra
(CSC-2) Infrared Spectra of HALOGENATED HYDROCARBONS
(CSC-3) Infrared Spectra of PLASTICIZERS and OTHER ADDITIVES
(CSC-4) Infrared Spectra of GASES and VAPORS
(CSC-5) Infrared Spectra of REGULATED and MAJOR INDUSTRIAL CHEMICALS

Ordering Information is listed below.

Item No. & Description

Price

(CSC-1) DESK BOOK of Infrared Spectra  $130.00
The Desk Book is designed to meet the needs of the practicing spectroscopist, teacher, and student for a complete, general IR reference.  It is an outstanding collection with 900 high-quality spectra.  Special text sections on IR interpretation are correlated and referenced to representative curves.
(CSC-2) Infrared Spectra of HALOGENATED HYDROCARBONS $90.00
Collection consists of grating spectra, mostly determined at known concentrations in solvents (split solutions) or as split mulls.  Also, important gases, including Freons.  317 spectra.
(CSC-3) Infrared Spectra of PLASTICIZERS & OTHER ADDITIVES $100.00
A collection of the most widely used placticizers plus key inorganic additives and fire retardants.  many have been determined in solution at calibrated thickness, with multiple thickness to bring out key weak bands or to make the absorbance value of strong bands readable.  310 spectra.
(CSC-4) Infrared Spectra of GASES & VAPORS $90.00
High-quality grating and FT-IR reference spectra, at multiple pressures, when needed.  Most are pressure broadened with nitrogen to improve transferability of band intensities for composition estimates.  Concentration and path length are reported.  230 spectra.
(CSC-5) Infrared Spectra of REGULATED & MAJOR INDUSTRIAL CHEMICALS $170.00
Infrared spectra of the chemicals listed by the EPA as Priority Pollutants, as well as other major industrial chemicals.  Compounds, which are closely related structurally to priority pollutants, or are likely to be contaminants arising from the same chemical process, are also included.  Over 600 spectra.
